Join a workspace, a project, or a canvas

You can be invited to join a workspace, a project, or a canvas. You may either get a URL directly from your inviter to join, or you may be getting an email with the link inviting you to join. Either way, click the link and follow the below instructions to start using ALLO.

Joining a workspace

If you're invited to join a workspace, and you're a first-time user of ALLO, follow the below steps to enter the workspace:

1. Click the link you got either from your inviter or in the email. 
2. Click "Sign up" or "Sign up with Google" if you use a Google email.
3. Fill in your information and click "Create an account".
4. You will be brought to the workspace and can now collaborate with others using ALLO. 

Joining a project

If you're invited to join a project, and you're a first-time user of ALLO, follow the below steps to enter the project:

1. Click the link you got either from your inviter or in the email. 
2. Sign up to ALLO by following the sign-up instructions and clicking "Create an account".
3. You need to have a workspace to join a project as an external collaborator. Give your workspace a name, and invite collaborators into your workspace (or you can skip this step) to get started.
4. You will be brought to the project and can now collaborate with others using ALLO. 

Note: To access this project in the future, click "Shared with me" in the left sidebar. You should be able to find all the projects that do not belong to your workspace but you're part of here. 

Joining a canvas

If you're invited to join a canvas, you can join either as a guest or as an ALLO member. Either way, click the link you got either from your inviter or in the email, and follow the below steps:

Joining as a guest 

1. Make sure that you're not currently logged in to an ALLO account. 
2. Click "Continue as a guest" on the popup.
3. Enter a guest name of your liking.
4. Click "Join".   
5. Depending on the permission you've given, you can now either view, comment, or edit the canvas.            

Joining as an ALLO member

1.  If you're already logged in to an ALLO account, you'll be entering the canvas as an ALLO member directly. If not, continue to step 2.
2. Click "Sign up for free" if you don't have an ALLO account or "Sign in" if you do.
3. Depending on the permission you've given, you can now either view, comment, or edit the canvas.

Note: If you joined the canvas as an ALLO member and want to access this canvas again in the future, click "Shared with me" in the left sidebar. You should be able to find all the canvases that are not in a project that you're in but you have access to.
